Germany

We produce structural and outer skin parts for almost all well-known automobile manufacturers in Germany. Typical products are, for example, A and B pillars, doors and bonnets, but also entire structural assemblies.

We have a total of eight locations in Germany. In addition to four production plants in Artern (Thuringia), Buchholz (Rhineland-Palatinate), Duisburg (North Rhine-Westphalia) and Zwickau (Saxony), an administrative and technical center is located in Cologne. In Ettlingen (Baden-Württemberg) and Wolfsburg (Lower Saxony) two sales offices represent us directly at our customers. Ultimately, there is another administrative location in Kaarst (North Rhine-Westphalia).

In Cologne, around 160 colleagues work together in the district of Rath. Our office stands out because of its open design and the combination of modernity and history. In addition to the finance, purchasing, sales, IT and HR departments, one of our largest technology centers is represented in Cologne. The departments quality and continuous improvement are also located here.

 Our Plants

  • Artern

The Artern plant is located in the Kyffhäuserkreis in Thuringia. It was established in 2005, therefore Artern is the youngest plant in Germany with 130 colleagues. Artern is a stamping plant, which produces high quality parts and outer skin parts with its large presses. In addition, Artern cuts the steel blanks from coils for themselves and other Snop plants. The Artern site trains apprentices.

  • Buchholz

The Buchholz plant is located in the idyllic Westerwald near Neuwied and employs 70 colleagues. Together with Zwickau, it is one of the oldest plants of Snop in Germany. First and foremost, Buchholz is a stamping plant in which steel parts are formed by a variety of presses. Smaller steel parts are also assembled in assembly cells. Buchholz manufactures for different customers and also for other plants of the Groupe FSD.

  • Duisburg

The Duisburg plant is located in a modern industrial area near the port of Duisburg. 70 colleagues work here in three-shift production for our customers. There are 40 robots located in seven assembly cells, which produce complete car doors and other products. In addition, Duisburg is possessing Snop's only laser-napping system to improve the weld results.

  • Zwickau

The former Trabant factory in the heart of Saxony is the largest plant of Snop in Germany. In Zwickau we have three large transfer presses, two Tandem Lines, a coil system for steel blanking and also assembly cells. We produce the highest quality outer skin parts as well as structural components on the cold forming lines. The plant also produces on two modern hot forming lines and eleven laser systems. Here, vehicle parts are heated up in a long furnace and then thermoformed. Herewith we achieve a very high strength, so the components are thinner and lighter. After the hot forming, the parts are further processed by laser cutting.
