Villepinte, Global Head Office of the FSD Group, located 22 km north of Paris plays a pivotal role, being a focul point for all of the Group’s entities. Employees predominantly work in Sales, Finance, IT, Logistics, Project, Quality, and Human Resources.
Smom France | Les Achards
The plant, ideally located on the Vendée coast, is a major player in the design and production of press tools employing 180 people.
Our scope of expertise extends to the areas of the cash register, the seat, and the mechanism parts. We mainly work with steel, stainless steel, aluminum, HLE steel, THLE, and dual phase.
We also offer the production of assembled prototypes as well as special machines.
Our plants
Besançon
Besançon, known for French watchmaking and microtechnology, is located in the heart of Franche-Comté, in the east of France. Specialised in cutting and stamping on automatic presses, and in the degreasing of steel and aluminium automotive parts. The site delivers to French and European car manufacturers and equipment manufacturers as well as other Group FSD sites.
About 10% of the world’s car fleet is powered by parts produced by Snop Besançon.
Brioude
The Brioude plant is located in the heart of Auvergne near Clermont Ferrand. Snop Brioude was created in 1987 and is Snop's first plant in France. Employing 172 employees, our activities include cutting, stamping, assembly by welding, crimping and tapping under the press. Steel parts are cut and stamped using presses. Smaller pieces of steel are also assembled by welding and by crimping. Equipment on-site includes; automatic presses from 100T to 400T, manual presses, spot welders and welding robots.
Snop Brioude produces parts for different automotive manufacturers and for other Groupe FSD plants.
Cousance
The Cousance site is located in the south of the Jura, about 100 km north of Lyon. Cousance is the origin of Groupe FSD’s «D»! Specialised in the cutting and stamping of steel, stainless steel and aluminum parts using automatic and manual presses. And assembly using resistance and robot MIG welders.
The site delivers to French and European car and truck manufacturers and equipment manufacturers as well as other sites of Groupe FSD.
Douai | Sin le Noble
The Douai and Sin le Noble plants are located in the north of France and employ 430 employees. Our Douai plant concentrates on stamping activities (forming steel parts through various automatic and tandem presses) and steel parts assembly activities in 50 assembly cells. As for our Sin le Noble plant, its activity is based on the treatment of parts manufactured by a process of cataphoresis (paint bath) which protects parts from rust or corrosion. Both Douai and Sin le Noble are located close to our customers.
Etupes
The Etupes site, dating from 1999, is based less than 5km from our customer STELLANTIS Sochaux and is also close to STELLANTIS Mulhouse. The 250 employees of Snop Etupes specialise in cutting and stamping with 11 automatic presses from 400t to 1200t as well as a G2 line. The second activity of the site is assembly by welding. Located on a motorway, the site delivers to French and European manufacturers as well as other sites of Groupe FSD.
Fontaine
The Fontaine assembly site is located in the North East of France, near Belfort (90) and is halfway between the Stellantis factories in Sochaux and Mulhouse. 83 employees work on the site where stamped components are received from Groupe FSD plants and are assembled using spot welding, MAG welding and gluing. A total of 53 robots and 35 robotic cells are used to ensure customer deliveries. Snop Fontaine works exclusively with Stellantis.
Gacé
The Snop Gacé site is located in Normandy between Argentan and l'Aigle and employs 203 people who work in three shifts. We rely on the stability of experienced staff. Our core business: cutting-stamping and robotic assembly which are automated and competitive processes. On the stamping side, we have six automatic presses (400T to 1600T) and one tandem press (1600T at the head and four presses 800T). On the assembly side, we have 12 robotic spot welding cells, six crimping robot cells and three crimping robots. We manufacture body-in-white parts for multiple car manufacturers and for other Groupe FSD sites.
Gérardmer
Snop Gérardmer is a profiling and assembly site located in the northeast of France, not far from the German border, and employs 62 employees, working in 3 shifts. The main customers of the site are Stellantis, Renault, Volkswagen, Volvo and other Groupe FSD plants. The site has three recent Balconi T2 profiling lines (from 16 to 24 operations), five T1 profiling lines and two specific profiling lines with induction welding. Gérardmer also has three bending/shaping machines, two robotic MAG welding machines and nine recovery presses from 25T to 100T.
Orbec
The Orbec site is located in Normandy between Lisieux and Bernay and employs 138 employees who work in three shifts. The establishment is based on the stability of experienced staff. Our core business: cutting and stamping: an automated and competitive process. On the stamping side we have five automatic presses (315T to 1500T) and two transfer presses (1000T to 1500T) for small and medium size parts. On the assembly side we have seven robotic cells.
We manufacture parts for the white body for multiple car manufacturers and for other Groupe FSD sites.
Sainte Gauburge
Sainte-Gauburge site is located in Normandy between L'Aigle and Argentan and employs 96 employees who work in in three shifts. We rely on the stability of experienced staff. Our core business includes profiling, bending, assembly and surface treatment (cataphoresis and paint), an automated and competitive process. We operate 8 roll forming machines, 14 bending machines, 8 robotic cells, a cataphoresis plant and a paint line. We manufacture body in white parts for multiple vehicles and sliding side door rails for utility vehicles for multiple OEMSs.
Saint-Pierre de Varengeville
The Saint-Pierre de Varengeville site is located in Normandy, near Rouen, and employs 130 employees who work in three shifts. We rely on the stability of experienced staff. Our core business includes the assembly of complex sub-assemblies, which is an automated and competitive process. We have 20 robotic cells. We manufacture parts for body in white, mechanisms and hinges, and dashboard cross members for multiple car manufacturers and other Groupe FSD sites.
Thiberville
The Thiberville site is located in Normandy, between Lisieux and Bernay, and employs 72 people who work in three shifts. We rely on the stability of experienced staff. Our core business includes the assembly of complex sub-assemblies which are automated and competitive processes. We have eight robotic MAG welding cells, seven SR robot cells and eight special machines. We manufacture blank body parts and engine parts for multiple car manufacturers and for other Groupe FSD locations.
